Cruise insurance cover
Sailing through the heart of Egypt, Nile River cruises offer the ideal way to see some of Egypt’s best ancient ruins so are a popular choice for many tourists.
Whilst your travel insurance policy from Start Travel will provide cover for river cruises, if your trip to Egypt will include a Nile river cruise you may wish to consider adding additional cruise cover to your policy to provide extra assurance that you will be protected should anything happen during your trip. (Please note, cruise cover is only available to add to single trip policy cover).
Adding cruise cover to your single trip travel insurance policy can provide you with additional benefits such as cover for cabin confinement, missed port cover or unused excursions.

There is no public healthcare in Egypt so if you fall ill or get an injury that requires medical treatment whilst on holiday in Egypt, you will need to visit and private doctor or hospital, which can end up costing thousands.
Many hotels in Egypt have their own doctor on site. Word of caution though, that there are reports of some hotel doctors overcharging for treatment and medicines. If you receive medical treatment whilst in Egypt, you should examine your bill closely and challenge excessive charges.
Pharmacies outside hotels will often supply medication at lower prices.
Annual Multi-trip policies
If you plan on travelling abroad more than once in a year then you may benefit from purchasing an annual multitrip travel insurance policy.
However, should you require cruise cover for a Nile river cruise, please note this is only available as an add-on for single trip travel insurance policies.
* Terms, conditions and exclusions apply. For full details please check policy wording and IPID.
A single trip policy may be ideal if you are planning just one trip within a year.
Your single trip policy can be arranged to cover you for a trip that includes just one country, or, if required, more than one country if you will be arranging a twin centre holiday or intend visiting various countries during your trip.
To determine the category of insurance you will need, just check which insurance zones (Europe 1 or 2 for example) include the countries you intend to visit.
