UK Bank Holiday Dates for 2017
After several days off over the festive season, most of us will be delighted to get back work – escaping the turkey leftover sandwiches, the bottles of sherry lurking under the Christmas tree gifted by obscure aunties – and the overload of TV Christmas specials.
But just in case you've developed a penchant for holidays and the idea of returning to work in the January gloom doesn't fill you with glee, you might want to begin dreaming of your next getaway.
Bank holidays are great for augmenting your annual holiday entitlement, all of which, when cunningly planned around weekends can see you enjoy longer holidays without wiping out your yearly holiday allowance.
In England, Scotland and Wales, the next Bank Holiday is the Friday 14th April, which, let's be honest, does seem like a terribly long way off. A sneaky long weekend somewhere warmer maybe in order before then!
Northern Ireland will enjoy its next Bank Holiday on 17th March.
